Forget Me Not - a Local Poet

Forget Me Not

White noise flash people trash

Blank expression minds depressing

Stench is stacking bodies racking

Callous creepers ripping deeper

darkness calling near is reaper.

World created gods hands faded

asking questions were not sated.

Mirror, mirror “I don’t lack”

vain reflection smiles back.

Temptation hot- fuel urges

devil plays eerie dirges.

Mother Nature plays a part, rock and earth torn apart.

Rivers rise, levies fall, blacktop flooded shopping malls

Homes built against a hill , muddy water runs until…

filling pushing rushing down world crashing all around.

Deities a canvas paint, man destroys disease and hate.

Envy money colored green grabbing clutching nothing clean.

Lady walking home from church, bloodied nose, stolen purse.

World around us we are missing

heads down staring white light hissing.

Rushing running place to place, no care given, win the race

Trample scruples betray trust, accumulate possessions… love rusts.

Children watch, learn to follow, emulate empty, sad and hollow.

Change direction, new path forge

forest green, fruit engorged.

Grab a handful nectar drink… simple things, remember think.

Clouds wisp shape and form…collide together Unicorn.

Look inside, find the way

embrace beauty, love each day.

Slow your roll, shut it down, act the part, play a clown.

Woe is me, who to blame

life’s not fair ignite the flame.

Heat the embers, stoke it hot

pluck the petals, forget me not.
