Opportunity Project will once again join with the community for the organization’s Annual Golf Classic on Monday, September 23, 2019 at Brooklake Country Club in Florham Park, N.J. In addition to a fun day of golf for a great cause, this year’s event will focus on the importance of brain injury prevention and the organization’s new partnership with Children’s Specialized Hospital and RWJBarnabas Health. The organizations announced their partnership in May, explaining that coming together advances both the strategic direction of Children’s Specialized and enhances the growth of Opportunity Project while increasing access to integrated care and vital support services for those who have experienced a brain injury.

After raising over $277,000 last year, co-chairs Eileen Sudler, Marc E. Berson, Jacob S. Buurma, Sal Davino, Marshall Freidus, Chris Johnson, Murray Kushner, Jared Levine, Jonathan Sobel, and Warren Moore hope to exceed that amount at this year’s event. The day will begin with driving range access and brunch at 9:45 a.m. until the shotgun start of golf play at 11:30 a.m. A cocktail reception with presentations and awards will begin at 5:30 p.m., hosted by noted broadcaster, author and motivational speaker, Steve Adubato Jr., Ph.D.

The event will feature multiple on-course contests and special events, including the chance to win two hole-in-one cars on select holes, a lobster roll and vodka stand and an authentic Biergarten. Raffles and a silent auction will be held throughout the day culminating during the cocktail reception. This year’s raffle and auction items include a prime table at Rao’s, VIP tickets to the U.S. Open, an array of other sports packages and exclusive vacation and wine experiences.

Brain injury continually ranks as the leading cause of death and disability in children and adults ages 1 to 44 and all funds raised at the Golf Classic go directly towards Opportunity Project’s programs. Specifically, these programs include vocational services for individuals with brain injury, occupational therapy for cognitive and memory support and nutritional counselling. Additionally, Opportunity Project spearheads awareness initiatives for the local community, including schools and those serving the public in order to increase knowledge and education of brain injury prevention.

This year’s Event Sponsors include Century 21 Construction, The Fidelco Group, Fidelity Land Development Corporation, The Freidus Family, Hollister Construction Services, Kushner Real Estate Group, The Mandelbaum Family, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, and The Sudler Foundation.

Sponsorship opportunities and golf packages are still available.
