Studio Montclair presents “Everyday Objects,” on exhibit from November 1 to December 7, 2019 at Studio Montclair Gallery, 127 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair, NJ. An opening reception will take place on Friday, November 1 from 7 to 9pm. This exhibit, featuring the artwork of 55 artists in Montclair and beyond, celebrates “found” objects.

Every day we are surrounded by objects that we connect with through physical, psychological and sensory relationships. These objects carry a history and a set of meanings that we often share collectively or at times are extremely personal to our individual experiences. Found-object artists investigate object-relationships; exploring the inherent beauty in objects and how they can tell a story when broken apart or combined with other objects.

About the Curator: M. Gosser is the chief curator and gallery director of the College of Architecture and Design at New Jersey Institute of Technology. He also runs Art & Artifacts of Newark, a downtown gallery celebrating Newark’s resurgence. Gosser is the vice-president of Newark Landmarks, a preservation and community activist organization, and serves on the executive board of the Jewish Museum of New Jersey. In his earlier careers, Gosser was an architect, urban planner, photographer, sculptor, and installation artist.
