Coffee Adds Longevity: 3 1/2 cups a day = 7 percent lower chance of dying
If you’re like me, you consider your coffee to be an integral part of your daily life. Some people call it an addiction. I call it heaven.
We’ve all heard about studies touting the value of drinking coffee. Researchers have reported studies that show coffee drinkers enjoy health benefits such as help with depression, Parkinson’s disease and more.
Now, the health benefits of drinking up to 3 1/2 cups a day are astounding. Researchers report that people who drink a moderate (up to 3 /12 cups a day) of coffee have a much higher chance of living a longer life span.
The study, published in Annals of Internal Medicine, reports that “During a mean follow-up of 16.4 years, 41 693 deaths occurred. Compared with non-consumers, participants in the highest quartile of coffee consumption had statistically significantly lower all-cause mortality.”
This study reports clearly, “Coffee drinking was associated with reduced risk for death from various causes. This relationship did not vary by country.”
Researchers studied 521,330 people for almost seven years, keeping track of their coffee drinking every day. The study said the participants had an average age of 56 years old, were all cancer free, and had no cardiovascular disease when the study was launched.
Surprisingly, even if the coffee lovers added sweetness to their coffee in moderate amounts, such as a teaspoon of sugar, they still had a 30 percent less chance of dying as c compared to those who did not drink coffee from any cause, including cancer and heart disease.
Scientists have long studied coffee, and many experts believe coffee beans since they help your body reduce inflammation in cells, and help protect us from disease.
This European-based study, conducted among ten Euro countries, shows that drinking coffee continues to offer health benefits to us all. If you are pregnant, however, ask your doctor if coffee drinking is right for you.
If you’re wondering how to make the best cup of Joe in the world, remember that just like cooking a magical meal, it all starts with the beans!
