The New Jersey Coalition for Inclusive Education (NJCIE) will host a free workshop on Inclusion and the Law on Thursday, November 21, from 6:30 p.m to 8:30 p.m at Montclair State University, University Hall, Room 1040.

Inclusion for students with disabilities is a very hot topic in many New Jersey communities. Inclusive education as a civil right is enshrined in the Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act. However, the application of those rights is often misunderstood leading to poor decisions regarding student placement and IEP development.

During this workshop, we will identify the law supporting inclusion. We will also engage in a practical discussion about the law and strategies to support an inclusion model.

The workshop is sponsored by the College of Education and Human Services at Montclair State University and Gibbons P.C. law firm. It will be presented by Mary Fran Palisano Esq. & Debra Clifford Esq. from Gibbons P.C. Registration is required. Seating is limited. Register online at www.njcie.org/inclusionlaw.
