Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. (right)
congratulates Robert Treat Academy seventh-grader Asia Moore from Newark and
Oliver Street School fourth-grader Vincent Vides from Newark for having the
winning entries in the "Why My Essex County Park is Important to Me" Essay
Contest. Moore wrote about Essex County Branch Brook Park and Essex County
Turtle Back Zoo. Vides wrote about Essex Independence Park. The two students
read their essay during the opening ceremony at the 35th Annual Essex County
Cherry Blossom Bloomfest on Sunday, April 17th in Essex County Branch Brook
Park. The contest was open to all fourth and seventh grade students in Essex
County. With the County Executive is Branch Brook Park Alliance
Co-Chairwoman Barbara Bell Coleman.
